Career

Keenan grew up in Mosspark on Glasgow's Southside and attended Our Lady of the Rosary RC Primary School and later Lourdes RC Secondary School. As a regular and a stand out for both Primary and Secondary School teams a move into the senior game looked inevitable. Keenan began his professional football career at Clydebank where remained until the clubs demise. After leaving Clydebank, he began playing for amateur Glasgow side Pollok United. His spell at Pollok earned him a move to Greenock Morton in 2002. He made his début for Morton in a cup-tie against Queen of the South in 2002 and was subsequently shown a red card following his tackle on former Celtic winger Brian McLaughlin.[1]

Keenan operates as either in defence or midfield.

He was loaned out to Second Division side Ayr United during the January 2008 transfer window.[2] He joined Ayr United permanently in May 2008.[3]

He also scored in the Ayrshire derby,[4] making himself a hero amongst the locals and is currently signed on a 2 year deal at Somerset Park. Season 2010-11 proved to be very frustrating for Keenan; after suffering a serious knee injury, he missed the entire season. He was signed on again for season 2011-12 to allow the tough tackling midfielder a chance to prove his fitness.

In October 2011, as he was due to have cartilage surgery, he was loaned out to Scottish Junior Football West Premier League side Kirkintilloch Rob Roy until January 2012.[5]
